2022: Announcement

On October 25, 2022, it became known about the creation of the first Russian ship traffic management system. This is a development by Sitronics Group.

The ship traffic control system (VCS) is a software and hardware complex that can be used in water areas with active cargo and passenger shipping. VMS includes radar, dispatch equipment and special software. The system is installed on shore or on stationary offshore facilities in order to obtain position data of vessels, their speed, course and position. The dispatcher is assigned to a certain group of ships and ensures the safety of their passage into the port zone.

The first Russian ship traffic management system has been created

The system contains a radar that provides information to the control system, created on a domestic component base. The software is written by the developers of Sitronics Group.

SWS Sitronics Group was tested on the coast of the Gulf of Finland. This is the first fully domestic system certified by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, the developers say. The main task of the VPS is to ensure the safe divergence of facilities, control over their movement and position at anchorages, monitoring of straits and areas that are adjacent to oil and gas production platforms.

All ports of the Russian Federation, as well as coastal areas with active shipping, should be equipped with a ship traffic control system. The new software and hardware complex is completely Russian, belongs to the class of critical infrastructure and helps to solve the problem of achieving the country's technological sovereignty, "said Pavel Dreiger, vice president of software products and solutions at Sitronics Group. }} According to him, the product has export potential, since the requirements of the Russian Maritime Register are more stringent than in many other countries.[1]
