Announcement of Somatom go.Sim and Somatom go.Open Pro
In the middle of September, 2019 provided to Siemens Healthineers two KT-systems intended for planning of radiation therapy: Somatom go.Sim and Somatom go.Open Pro.
The Somatom go.Sim KT-system is expected 64 cuts, Somatom go.Open Pro on 128 cuts. Both systems are developed for improvement of comfort of the patient and equipped with technologies of positioning and also additional lasers for marking of patients of production Siemens Healthineers, known as DirectLasers. They are established directly on the portal of the KT-scanner and are controlled with the help of the tablet. Mobile solutions provide ease of use and help the doctor at each stage of the procedure, at the same time allowing it to lower beam loading. Thanks to the optimized workflow the doctor can give more time to the patient, reducing his concern.
Somatom go.Sim and Somatom go.Open Pro also includes DirectORGANS technology for planimetric processing of bodies in risk group. This software provides specialized reconstruction of images, optimizing computer tomograms for hands-off processing of circuits. Thus DirectORGANS allows to reduce unreasonable deviations at assessment.
The Somatom go.Open Pro KT-scanner also uses Direct Intelligent 4D technology (Direct i4D) which adapts a system to breath of the patient in real time. Direct i4D optimizes image quality, reducing artifacts of the movement. Thanks to it the images received using Direct i4D allow to carry out stereotaksichesky radiation therapy of all body which they require a fine precision.
Somatom go.Sim and Somatom go.Open Pro expect approval of regulatory bodies and by September, 2019 did not come to the market.[1]
Анонс Somatom go.Top Cardiovascular Edition
In the middle of March, 2019 Siemens Healthineers provided the new computer Somatom go.Top Cardiovascular Edition tomograph for assessment of a cardiovascular system.
Somatom go.Top Cardiovascular Edition will become the fifth addition to the Siemens Somatom go platform. The portfolio already includes Somatom go.Now, Somatom go.Up, SSomatom go.All and Somatom go.Top.
Usually the heart KT systems expensive and bulky therefore are used only in stationary conditions. However the 128-slice Somatom go.Top KT-scanner uses new approach and can be used in out-patient practice. Somatom go.Top is controlled from the tablet using the system integrating all devices and computers thanks to what need for normal dispatching office disappears. The doctor is not tied to the working console and can devote more time to setup of the device and communication with the patient. Developers also note that a new KT-system is simple in mastering and operation and has optimal total cost of ownership.
Siemens within two years developed the software for the new scanner. For this purpose creators involved HeartFlow company in cooperation. Thanks to implementation of the HeartFlow FFR-CT Analysis program which estimates data of KT and creates the card of coronary arteries of the patient Somatom go.Top allows to estimate more precisely cardiovascular risk and need of further invasive inspections.
Besides, Somatom go.Top allows to calculate precisely a dose of radiation of the patient in different applications for visualization of a cardiovascular system, including at a coronary angiography. Functions of the new KT-scanner include Care kV which optimizes settings for each patient, and an algorithm Siemens Check & Go which helps to estimate an anatomic covering and in time to reveal problems with distribution of contrast.[2]
2017: Announcement of Somatom go.All and Somatom go.Top
At an annual conference of society of radiologists of North America (RSNA) which since the end of November until the beginning of December, 2017 took place in Chicago the German company Siemens Healthiners provided new scanners for the computer tomography (CT). According to the producer, thanks to the innovative technologies of the Somatom go.All and Somatom go.Top model provide the new level of the standardized high-quality researches which help medical specialists to set the diagnosis precisely.
New clinical areas, such as cardiology and surgical intervention under control of KT will allow to cover the announced equipment. Remote control from the panel or the tablet will allow the technician to remain near the patient in a set-up time to a research and even during the scanning that removes alarm of the patient and increases his job satisfaction of medical staff.
Thanks to the high-performance systems for one - and the two-channel image Siemens Healthiners could achieve the advanced scheme of operation of the KT-scanner with the camera, and due to artificial intelligence and to technologies of deep training the camera automatically precisely and izocentrichno positions patients. As a result the need for rescanning decreases, i.e. costs are reduced.
High-speed performance of scanners and ease in management allow to use them in such areas as the emergency medicine, intervention radiology and even cardiology that is especially important because of sharp increase in volume of a coronary KT-angiography, the press release says.
We consider that our new line of scanners in the best way resolves the different issues connected with KT, in particular, a problem of increase in number of patients at decrease in rates of compensation — the head of department of a computer tomography of Siemens Healthiners says to André Hartung. — Our innovative technologies help to realize all potential of KT, at the same time reducing costs.[3] |
2016: Announcement of Somatom go.Now and Somatom go.Up
The Siemens Healthineers company used the RSNA 2016 conference (on November 27 — on December 2; Chicago, the USA) for demonstration of a new line of computer Somatom go tomographs. Management by means of the tablet computer which replaces the operator console and provides to devices greater mobility became the main feature of new products.
Entered a new series the 32-slice Somatom go.Now scanner and 64-slice Somatom go.Up. At the time of the announcement of products they are in process of receiving approval in the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The output of devices to the commercial market is planned for the second quarter 2016.
Tablet computer of production HP Inc. (goes complete with the equipment) by means of which it is possible to interact with new tomographs, allows to register patients, to set the program of scanning, to start process, to browse results, to visualize data retrieveds and to transfer them.
The possibility of the mobile organization of workflows in Somatom go provides to doctors higher flexibility in work with a system and cuts down operating expenses, the director of world sales of the Siemens Healthineers KT-scanners Christiane Bernhardt says.
According to her, development of a line began Somatom go with poll more than 500 clients in 11 countries of the world. The company wanted to reveal the main "painful points" because of which procedures of a computer tomography become complicated. The main problems as it became clear, complexity in personnel training and storing of information during the work with KT-devices, high operating expenses, insufficiently qualitative clinical results and weak payback of the equipment are. All these aspects were considered during Somatom go creation, Bernhardt claims.[4]
