2020: Announcement of Sonimage HS2 ultrasound scanner

At the end of November 2020, Konica Minolta Healthcare introduced the compact Sonimage HS2 ultrasound system, optimized for medical care at home or at the bedside. The novelty, according to the manufacturer, provides high clarity of the image and is intended for examinations of the musculoskeletal system, vascular system, operations to control pain syndrome, interventional and orthobiological procedures.

The system can also be used for US control at punctures and for blood flow imaging. The specialized Simple Needle Visualization software allows the surgeon to accurately guide the needle, and high resolution and high frame rate allow for a clearer visualization of small vessels and assessment of blood flow. The system is also compatible with the Konica K18-4 broadband sensor, which improves the detail and contrast of the image.

In addition, Sonimage HS2 includes additional deep tissue imaging software. The algorithm transmits two waveforms depending on the focal length, thereby providing a high signal intensity, and the Improved Tissue Harmonics technology ("tissue harmonics") suppresses acoustic noise and increases the sensitivity of both deep and surface imaging.

The system is also provided with a widescreen touch monitor. Clinicians can record notes and make explanatory drawings directly on screen to later use them when compiling a report.
