In early January 2022, a public presentation of the first took place. electric vehicle Sony A crossover called Vision-S 02 received two electric engines with a total power of 400 kW (536 hp) and four-wheel drive.
According to the developers, the electric car is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 s and reach speeds of up to 240 km/h. The machine is equipped with about various sensors (there are about 40 in total), including four lidars, 18 radars and ultrasonic sensors, as well as 18 cameras of different types. The manufacturer claims that the interior of the car is carefully worked out in terms of organizing interaction with the driver and passengers through an on-board multimedia system.
Cameras and sensors recognize the driver's facial expression, head and hand movements. This helps electronics to control their attention and physical condition in order to intercept control in time if necessary. At the same time, this system can affect the settings of the climatic installation and other parameters of the internal environment. Systems, for example, can determine that a passenger in the rear seat has fallen asleep and adjust the temperature around him for a more comfortable sleep.
The cabin has six displays and an audio system with 360 Reality Audio spatial sound (speakers are built into each of the four seats) and displays with integrated Bravia Core video service and the ability to stream games with PlayStation. According to Sony President Kenichiro Yoshida, the company uses artificial intelligence and robotics to the maximum.
To develop the direction of electric vehicles, Sony created a separate division - Sony Mobility. At the same time, the Japanese manufacturer does not disclose the dates for the start of sales of its vehicles by the beginning of January 2022.[1]
