2020: Announcement of Spline.ai - AI systems for processing X-ray pictures

In the middle of October, 2020 the developer of computer technologies of data processing Xilinx and Spline.ai company working on use of artificial intelligence in medicine provided an algorithm of deep learning open source which allows to process x-rays.

According to a razrabotchiko, model open source and a set for design, available in a cloud of Amazon Web Services, can be used for development and deployment of own algorithms for clinical applications. A set to start work which includes a programmable chip of a matrix of Xilinx UltraScale + and FPGA - computer chips which can be reprogrammed after assembly that they could be optimized for the solution of specific objectives. Instructions on a chip of FPGA can be written using the Python programming language therefore the model can be adapted to different requirements of the application. New models can be used on mobile or peripheral devices and also be scaled in remote networks and in large geographical regions thanks to application of cloud computing.

A free AI system from Spline.ai and Xilinx with open source codes for processing X-ray pictures is released

The companies stated that the technology was already used by Spline.ai for development of an algorithm of detection of pneumonia and COVID-19 according to rentgenovysky pictures. The model was constructed using more than 30,000 confirmed x-ray images of pneumonia and 500 x-rays of complications of COVID-19 which were provided state medical also by research organizations and are trained using service SageMaker AI. The model should help doctors to detect respiratory diseases and their complications in the conditions of the increased load of medical personnel.[1]
