On January 23, 2014 the Schneider Electric company submitted the new version of StruxureWare Building Expert 2.8
The release of the last firmware of Building Expert 2.8 provides a set of new objects for the devices supporting the Modbus and EnOcean protocols.
EnOcean
StruxureWare Building Expert and the MPM multifunction devices already supported the EnOcean protocol with a frequency of 868 MHz and 315 MHz. In this release support of frequency of EnOcean 902 MHz is added. The line of devices from Schneider Electric supporting EnOcean 902MHz is available to North America (PA-00316). Similar start of EnOcean 868MHz devices in Europe is planned in 2014.
Modbus
Already supported by software of StruxureWare Building Expert integration into certain devices under the Modbus protocol, by means of ready objects for these devices. This release adds new objects of devices for products of such lines as Acti9, PM and the iEM series. Besides, there were two new elements among indicating panels: binary switch and normal button. These are ideal elements for display of functions of such devices as the switches or any other devices working in the mode incl. / off, yes/no, 1/0.
Building Expert 2.8 implements many key features of the EcoStruxure Web Services (EWS) server from Schneider Electric according to EWS v1.1 specification. This EWS server which is built in each MPM device is tested by Schneider Electric laboratory with EcoStruxure Partner Program technology regarding compatibility of the key solutions EWS. Integration of StruxureWare Building Operation into the EWS server of the MPM controller allows to collect, to monitor, manage and analyze all information which is contained on multi-function printers of the building and also to transfer it from system data to valuable analytical information. At the moment the digest authentication is not supported therefore the compatibility with EWS 1.1 is performed with some restrictions which will be used within one IP network.
