2024: Entry into service in the Russian army
On January 24, 2024, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the Vostok group of forces received the latest unmanned aerial vehicles Supercam, designed for reconnaissance. These drones carry out round-the-clock duty in the special operation zone, helping to adjust the attack on the enemy by artillery, tanks and other combat vehicles.
"Supercam" refers to the aircraft type. The device is able to work in the conditions of electronic suppression of the enemy due to the high degree of protection against electronic warfare. The electric power plant provides almost silent operation. The drone flies at an altitude of about two kilometers, and therefore it is difficult to detect. The collected intelligence is transmitted in real time to the control point. It takes only a few minutes from the moment the target is detected to a fire strike.
The combat crew of the drone consists of two people. In order to fully deploy the equipment and launch the drone, it takes no more than 15 minutes. At the same time, the work can be carried out from almost any position, due to which a high flexibility of use of the system is achieved. To give the aircraft an initial impulse, a special device is used - the so-called elastic catapult.
The operation of the board is carried out mainly by avionics. On the monitor screen, we see the values of the given speed, height and signal level, - says the senior operator of the unmanned platform with the call sign "Kok." |
Combat duty lasts about 6 hours, after which the Supercams return to the operators and land with a parachute. Instead, another similar drone is recovering to the sky. Thus, the enemy is monitored constantly.[1]
