Symantec Data Insight 3.0

The Symantec corporation announced in the spring of 2012 the new version of the product Data Insight 3.0. This corporate software will help the client enterprises to organize ordered storage and use of unstructured data, such as documents, presentations, large-format tables and electronic correspondence.

One of key improvements in the new version of the product Data Insight 3.0 is its closer integration with the Symantec Data Loss Prevention system. The enterprises using these two products will be able to identify the most important information and to minimize the probability of its leak, by removal of unnecessary documents from open storages and acceptance of other measures. Additional useful tools and functions, such as assessment of probable risks and sending notifications on possible leak of crucial data will be at disposal of users.

Thanks to expanded compatibility of Data Insight with the product Aveksa Access Governance, the enterprises will be able to exercise comprehensive control over access to crucial information in scales of all enterprise. Information on ownership and the addressing data, Aveksa which is brought together by the solution Symantec Data Insight in combination with systems capabilities, guarantees observance of legislative and industry standards and also internal security policies.

Symantec Data Insight 3.0 differs in the improved integration with the product Veritas Storage Foundation 6.0, gives enhanced capabilities of interaction with network storages Netapp and suggests to estimate expanded support of the Common Internet File System (CIFS) and Network File System (NFS) protocols.

Data Insight maintains the majority of platforms of storage (NetApp of NAS, EMC NAS, Windows File Servers, Microsoft SharePoint and Unix File Servers) and widespread directory services (Microsoft Active Directory, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Network Information Service (NIS/NIS+).
