2025: Launch of multi-banking in Russia

On October 9, 2025, T-Bank announced the launch of Multibanking, which combined the accounts of the four largest banks in the country in its mobile application. Now customers will be able to manage their accounts with VTB and Alfa-Bank directly in the T-Bank application. Since June 2024, this opportunity has already been valid for accounts with Sberbank.

Multi-banking interface in mobile application

As reported, as of October 2025, Multibanking is operating in pilot mode. Already more than 1 million customers can add their accounts with Sberbank to the T-Bank mobile application. In the near future, the possibility of adding VTB and Alfa-Bank accounts will also appear there. Participation in the project is possible only with the consent of the client and at his request.

In addition, for the first time on the market, T-Bank and VTB clients were able to add not only their current accounts to both applications, but also deposits and savings accounts.

Multi-banking gives partner bank customers the ability to quickly and safely view the total balance and balances of individual accounts, transaction history in both applications, as well as transfer money from one bank to another without fees ― everything on one screen, conveniently and clearly. This optimizes budget planning, allows you to manage it in one place and make more balanced financial decisions.

In addition, by receiving more information about customers, banks will be able to offer them more favorable terms for products.

Combining information about accounts in different banks in one application has become available thanks to the Open API technology. It allows banks to exchange information about their customers' accounts through secure channels.

When exchanging banks use FAPI.S.EK standards and OpenID Connect technology, which provide the optimal level of protection. These protocols eliminate the possibility of unauthorized access and ensure that client information remains confidential and reliably protected from fraudsters.

The Open API project is supported by the Bank of Russia and is part of the Open Data initiative. In the future, users will be able to give permission to exchange their data not only between banks, but also between related organizations, in particular MFIs, telecom operators.

Especially for the signing of the cooperation agreement, T-Bank has released limited LED cards with a special design. Each color of the diode symbolizes one of four banks: T-Bank, Alfa-Bank, VTB and Sberbank.

The LEDs built into the card are activated when the terminal touches. They do not need recharging and some additional power supplies. Therefore, luminous cards in appearance and durability do not differ from ordinary debit cards.

Multibanking ― this is an example of partnership, thanks to which customers of all participating banks win. The largest financial organizations of the country agreed to combine their knowledge and provide their customers with the optimal service. Through working together, we have been able to build a secure environment and a well-functioning information exchange process. This partnership ― a great impetus for the market as a whole, as it forms the basis for the further development of standards in the field of open finance. For banking, this is a step towards the formation of a single ecosystem in which financial services will operate transparently and consistently.
