T-Blade V-Class

Product
Developers: T-Platforms
Date of the premiere of the system: December, 2011
Technology: Supercomputer

On December 15, 2011 the T-Platforms company announced entry into the market of the T-Blade V-Class computing system.

The new solution is original development of T-Platforms company and represents a universal basis for creation of the high-performance systems of the initial and average level and also for creation of cloud computer centers. Thanks to an optimal ratio of such factors as the price, functionality and performance, T-Blade V-Class can act as a competitive alternative to the dual twin servers 1U and 2U for installation in standard racks.

The T-Blade V-Class chassis 5U high allows to place up to 10 standard dual-processor computing nodes or up to 5 dual nodes including graphic accelerators. The design of a system allows to use practically any external switches of network environments and interconnect, and the integrated system of centralized operation provides local and remote condition monitoring of the chassis and all nodes. Unlike the majority of twin-servers, the solution T-Blade V-Class has redundancy of supply systems and coolings, and provides a possibility of "hot" replacement of computing modules, power supplies and fans.

The computing T-Blade V-Class nodes can be equipped with different processors, a bulk memory and hard drives with a capacity up to 2 of Tb on a node. Construction of the chassis allows to set computing nodes of different form factors. Now two options of V205 nodes based on Opteron AMD processors are available: in standard execution (S) and also double thickness (F) with the integrated graphic NVIDIA Tesla M20x0 accelerator. Nodes can be delivered in the version with the integrated QDR InfiniBand controller.

Application of the V205S node increases performance of the applications which are effectively using multithreading. These nodes support the newest 4-8-12-16-core processors of series 6200 Interlagos with new microarchitecture. Similar processors work at the dual V205F nodes in combination with the graphic NVIDIA Tesla accelerator of series M. High-performance computer systems based on T-Blade V-Class can be delivered with a packet of general-system software of Clustrx developed by T-Platforms company for management and condition monitoring of computer systems.

"New development of our company is intended to fill a niche between basic twin-servers and expensive a blade systems of the corporate level, - Opanasenko Vsevolod, the CEO of T-Platforms company says. – The universality and balance of construction of T-Blade V-Class in combination with reasonable price will allow this system to become one of the most mass and universal products of our company. On its basis we are going to develop supercomputers by orders of the research and industrial organizations, powerful servers for commercial enterprises and also "cloud" computing infrastructures. Thanks to a possibility of application of the hybrid computing nodes combining standard processors with graphic accelerators, customers will be able to increase the speed of the solution of a number of applied tasks in tens of times and to reduce the cost of ownership of the computer system".
