2024: Deliveries to the RWT area
The state corporation Rostec delivered the next batch of mobile artillery fire control systems Tablet-A to the zone of a special military operation. This became known at the end of June 2024.
According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, before being sent to the SVO zone, control machines from the Tablet-A complex successfully passed military acceptance, which confirmed the high quality of their manufacture.
Tablet-A is a multifunctional system capable of controlling the firing of almost all artillery systems in service with the Russian army. The complex significantly increases the effectiveness of counter-battery warfare, reducing response time and ensuring accurate calculation of fire parameters.
One of the main advantages of Tablet-A is its ability to integrate with various reconnaissance equipment, including unmanned aerial vehicles. This allows you to receive and process data in real time, which significantly increases the accuracy and efficiency of artillery fire.
The complex is based on domestic high-performance processors and is equipped with specialized software developed by Russian specialists. The software includes algorithms for calculating the position of guns, taking into account various factors, such as the remoteness of targets, individual ballistics of guns and shells, and meteorological conditions.
Tablet-A is highly mobile and can be located both on the basis of Athlete armored vehicles and in portable secure cases. The main control means is a compact tablet computer with a touch screen, which has increased strength and water resistance.
The developers paid special attention to the power supply of the complex. The components of Tablet-A are capable of operating on internal batteries for several hours, and transportation cases serve as charging stations. All batteries used in the complex are produced in Russia.[1]

As part of the Rostec counter-battery struggle system
Holding "Roselectronics" and "High-precision complexes" of the State Corporation Rostec together with Rosoboronexport on August 15, 2023 presented a promising system of counter-battery struggle. It allows you to detect enemy artillery positions at a distance of up to 38 km, determine their exact coordinates, and then use automated fire control tools to ensure their defeat as soon as possible.
The technical solution included: the automated artillery complex of sound and thermal reconnaissance "Penicillin" and the artillery fire control complex "Tablet-A." Read more here.
Product Announcement
In early April 2023, the High-Precision Complexes holding of the state corporation Rostec presented the modernized mobile artillery fire control complex Tablet-A. This is the first Russian system with the ability to control firing of all types of ammunition.
According to TASS, the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute "Signal" (VNII "Signal") is finalizing the "Tablet-A" complex in two directions: this is software improvement and hardware modernization. The complex is capable of firing all types of ammunition used by the Russian Ministry of Defense. Improved software through the use of decision support elements can significantly reduce the preparation time for opening fire.
After receiving the coordinates of the targets, the commander of the artillery unit literally in a few clicks ensures the calculation of the firing installations and their transfer to specific guns. According to the results of the software modernization, the Tablet-A complex is able to control the firing of all types of ammunition for the entire range of artillery weapons currently used by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, TASS quoted the statements of the High-Precision Complexes holding. |
Thanks to the improvements, Tablet-A has become more compact and has the ability to function around the clock. The system makes it possible to control the firing of artillery and mortar installations, as well as multiple launch rocket systems. Earlier, the general director of the All-Russian Research Institute "Signal" Vladimir Pimenov announced the conclusion of the first state contracts with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for the production of the complex. The system was on display at the Abu Dhabi International Arms Show in February 2023.[2]
