In the middle of June, 2019 in the Israeli clinic began to use developed in the intelligence IBM Researchiskusstvennogo capable to predict development of a malignant breast cancer in patients within a year. A system issues the correct forecast in 87% of cases malignant and in 77% of cases of benign diseases. Besides, after training at the new body from 9,611 mammograms and medical records, a system could identify a breast cancer at early stages at 48% of people which differently would be left without medical care because of insufficient diagnostics.
Work of clinic is based on the research conducted by scientists at office IBM in Zurich and in University of Zurich. They developed a system which is capable to detect and classify tumor and immune cells and also their relationship. Similar efforts on increase in accuracy of screening of a breast cancer are made in Google, the Massachusetts technology university and New York University.
For drawing up the body of educational data researchers used mammographic images both corresponding clinical yielded and results of researches of biomarkers, including data on function of a thyroid gland, the reproductive anamnesis, a leykotsitarny profile, existence of a metabolic syndrome and others. They turned on this information on an equal basis with the results of a biopsy yielded the register of cancer, laboratory results and codes of different other procedures and diagnoses in model of machine learning which displayed communications between clinical risk factors and predicted development of malignant diseases of a mammary gland.
Scientists claim that their system revealed the clinical risk factors of cancer which were earlier not used in researches such as leykotsitarny profile and function of a thyroid gland. IBM is going to continue a research.[1]
