Tizen is in no hurry to recognize Russian software

The Expert Council on Russian Software could not make decisions regarding the inclusion in the Register of domestic software of the Tizen mobile operating system. Two council members told CNews about this.

According to CNews interlocutors, the members of the expert council "unanimously spoke out" in favor of approving Tizen's application, while the chairman of the expert council, the head of the Ministry of Communications Nikolai Nikiforov[1].

The Minister considered it necessary to send Tizen's application for consideration by the Ministry of Justice, which will have to clarify the issue of ownership of Tizen rights.

Who owns Tizen?

The press service of the Ministry of Communications confirmed to CNews that Tizen's application was not accepted, since the application was submitted by the Тизен.ру Association - that is, a group of companies.

In this regard, both the minister and experts had questions about who owns the rights to this product, the representative of the ministry says, so it was decided to seek clarification from the Ministry of Justice.
