Toshiba HK4

Toshiba HK4 is a series of corporate solid-state (SSD) disks c the SATA interface.

On February 26, 2016 the Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) company provided HK4 series - corporate solid-state (SSD) disks c the SATA interface (6 Gbps), focused on workloads with high intensity of reading and initial level of requirements to durability.

HK4 — a series of SSD disks of Toshiba for corporate systems and data processing centers on a basis a flash memory of MLC NAND of 15 nanometers with a low delay time for quality improvement of service (QoS).

As a part of a series:

• the disks HK4R for technological solutions of DWH with high intensity of reading - capacity to 1.92 TB and low power consumption that allows to use them in corporate Web servers, file servers, solutions for stream transfer of multimedia and video transmission on demand, search systems and storages of operational data.
• HK4E series disks with the initial level of durability provide up to three cycles of complete rewriting in day (DWPD)[2], have capacity up to 1.600 TB. Are suitable for data processing centers and solutions with the mixed workload type.
• HK4 is the SATA series of SSD disks of Toshiba with support of enciphering of a corporate class of TCG (Trusted Computing Group). In devices the technology of error correction of QSBC (Quadruple Swing-By Code), Toshiba company is implemented. The technology of error correction of QSBC of own development represents a highly effective error correction code (ECC) which helps to protect data of clients from the damages connected with wear of the carrier on a basis a flash memory of NAND. It increases reliability and increases service life of SSD disks.

Disks of HK4 series are delivered with the limited 5-year warranty. They are available. Models with function of the built-in enciphering will become available in April, 2016.
