2021: Use of software to recognize passports of tourists arriving in Seychelles
On April 2, 2021, it became known that the software development of the Russian company Smart Engines is used to recognize the passports of tourists arriving in the Seychelles.
AI algorithms created by Smart Engines have been used in the Travizory Visitor Management Platform IT system (developed by Travizory Border Security), used to organize entry to Seychelles.
Russia Citizens do not need a visa to arrive on the islands, but it is necessary to present a negative PCR test for coronavirus COVID-19 and issue an entry permit before the flight. You can apply through the Seychelles Travel Auth mobile application, which is part of the Travizory Visitor Management Platform.
With automatic recognition technologies, travelers just need to show the document to the smartphone camera or upload a photo of it. The solution supports the recognition of passport data from more than 200 countries and jurisdictions in the world.
Recognition is performed on a mobile phone or on a site. According to the developers, images of documents are not transferred to third-party services.
After you complete all the necessary actions in the application or on the site, travelers receive official permission to travel. They can present the barcode generated by the system when checking in for a flight. So airlines can check the validity of the entry permit before boarding.
The Travizory platform allows you to not only manage information about travelers, but also gives a new positive experience in the field of tourism for passengers and airlines, - head of Travizory Border Security SA CEO Reno Irminger. - Smart Engines passport recognition technology allows visitors to Seychelles in our system to conveniently fill in entry permits, remotely perform all necessary procedures for travel and make their vacation safe. |
