2020: Integration of Trimble Connect into Microsoft 365 and BIMcollab
On October 23, 2020 the company Trimble announced integration of the cloud platform for joint work of Trimble Connect with Microsoft 365 and BIMcollab. Users of both platforms will receive the general source data which will connect all project participants and will provide to them information for decision making and optimization of work of a command in general. All participants will be able to use, check, coordinate and comment in real time on the containing numerous these models of buildings, drawings, specifications and other important data on the project. It will eliminate possible misunderstanding in interpretation of data which often do not allow to finish the project in time and within the budget.
According to the company, integration with Microsoft 365 excludes need to download necessary files from the Trimble Connect platform and to set them on working computer for editing in programs Word, Excel or PowerPoint. Without this additional stage workflow goes more simply and quicker. Users who have a license Microsoft 365 had an opportunity to use applications Microsoft for work with the project documentation, the presentations and tables directly through the Trimble Connect platform.

Integration of Trimble Connect with BIMcollab gives to users the chance of joint work in real time. Simple functionality of Trimble Connect in use reduces the period of training and provides to users of BIMcollab the general environment for visualization of design data and joint work for all project lifecycle. At the same time connection is possible even for those participants who have no access to the building tool BIM.
