2023: Getting the Military System

The Russian military received the Triton FPV drone tank protection system developed by the Laboratory for Countering Industrial Espionage JSC (PPSh Laboratory). The company told about this at the end of August 2023.

The first tests in the SVO zone were successful, now it is necessary to get information from customers about what frequencies and design they need, - Denis Oslomenko, General Director of the PPSh Laboratory, told TASS.

According to him, the next tests will be carried out in late August - early September 2023 on armored vehicles.

The Triton FPV drone protection system consists of four emitters that are attached to the corners of the anti-drone visor on the tank turret. These emitters protect the combat vehicle from attack from any direction, blocking the basic frequency bands that are used to control unmanned aerial vehicles. The protection system can be powered by a battery or onboard mains, providing the tank and its crew with 24-hour protection from kamikaze drones.

The base set includes an option for suppression in four bands: 868, 915, 1200 and 2400 MHz. The complex is powered from the on-board network of the machine or from batteries, control - using a remote control. It is possible to install the Triton on pickups and ATVs, in which case the modules are placed in a plastic case.

As noted by RIA Novosti, the relevance of the fight against FPV drones in the shock version increased sharply during the special operation, since for the first time in the history of modern conflicts their use became widespread. Previously, serial Russian tanks did not have countermeasures to such drones.

PPSh Laboratory JSC is a Russian company providing services and goods for information protection. Among them are devices for protecting telephone lines, wireless communication blockers and UAV suppressors, in particular anti-drone guns.^[1]
