2011: Solution output to the market
In April, 2011 TrueConf announced creation of the hardware and software system TrueConf 3D – the Russia's first solution for the organization of video conference with the three-dimensional image (3D). 3D - the format of video conference is provided by the camera developed by specialists TrueConf allowing to carry out stereoshooting and to transfer video in real time. The solution TrueConf 3D is supposed to bring to the market corporate clients until the end of 2011.
Structure of the solution
The 3D complex - video conference includes a stereocamera with the module for image recording in 3D - a format, the client application providing acceptance and transfer of stereodata and also the monitor with development of 120 Hz at which the image on the screen is reproduced with the doubled frequency, and barrier points of production Nvidia. The client application and the video camera support work of all of stereocontent display systems existing in the market using points.
Creation of a system of stereovideo conference became possible thanks to integration into the uniform module of management of parameters of stereoshooting and reproduction. The combination of an intelligent system of compensation of distortions of cameras and dynamic adjustment of parallax allows to change the stereoshooting mode without additional manual adjustments and excludes need of post-processing. Unique feature of the 3D TrueConf system is the function of recognition of nature of a scene allowing to select automatically a shooting method on parallel or convergent axes and also their combination.
System 3D-BKC developed by TrueConf has modular character and will be offered in different combinations of modules. It is supposed that business candidate solution 3D-BKC will be implemented 'turnkey' as the specialized negotiation premises with settings of the equipment under several scenarios of communication sessions. Individual users on the same technology platform will be able to use as a source of signals simpler and inexpensive (is more expensive to the little normal 2D) 3D - webcams, household stereocamcorders, and at their absence 2D-3D - converters. For display in this option application and cheap red-blue analytical glasses (cost of 50 rub) or more expensive solution on points with locks is admissible.
Specialists of TrueConf created the special kodak considering similarity of two parts of a stereoframe and allowing to parallelize a compression on several flows. It gives the chance to solve problems 3D-BKC on the available computers though relating to top, powerful models.
The first VKS stereosystems of development TrueConf will not support the HD mode as believe in the companies that 3D and at more low image quality gives the feelings close from the picture of HD, but also, the HD quality in 3D strongly strongly raises computing load of servers.
Price
As of 2011 the autostereoscopic screen with diagonal 42 inches in Moscow can be purchased approximately for 200 thousand rubles. The video camera specialized for stereo-VKS, according to expectations of Mr. Meleshko, will be costs approximately as much how many the senior 2D models - cameras for VKS. As a result the endpoint for implementation of a session 3D-BKC with barrier points can cost, by estimates of representatives of TrueConf, about 150 — 200 thousand rubles, and in about one and a half-two years its price will fall up to 100 — 120 thousand rubles, at the same time the option of an endpoint with the autostereoscopic screen will cost 150 — 200 thousand rubles. TrueConf assumes that the first business systems 3D-BKC will cost the buyer 10 — 15 thousand dollars that is about one and a half-two times more expensive, than the average 2D-VIDEOCONFERENCING-SOLUTION.
2015: New version of TrueConf 3D
In February, 2015 TrueConf presented a new solution of TrueConf 3D, allowing to organize three-dimensional video conference with use normal polarizing 3D - points to which users got used at movie theaters.
The solution is constructed based on TrueConf Server and uses the new codec and the new equipment: the 3D Cinema screen from LG company and a stereocamera of Magicam SD 30 from AEE company. It allows to take, squeeze, reproduce and transfer on normal IP networks, including the Internet, the stereoimage in HD quality.
The company notes that its previous practices in the field of stereo-video conference assumed use of expensive barrier points with the external transmitter synchronizer. New implementation is much more available, simpler in deployment and has big viewing angles, speak in TrueConf.
"The solution can be also connected to the autostereoscopic screen, and then need wearing spectacles vanishes at all, the truth of such exotic not to find in our shops yet. That completely and in large quantities to refuse points, we will need some more years, but it does not prevent customers to be influenced by volume video conferences in the meeting rooms already now", - the head of TrueConf Mikhail Gotalsky notes.
Speaking about advantages 3D - video conference, the company noted that flat screens do not let know all parts in volume and to provide as look a subject actually in volume, and 3D gives the chance to feel the volume and reality of a subject, gives feeling of presence. Besides, three-dimensional images - it is unusual, something new, interesting to the person, occasionally it is similar to entertainments, believe in the companies.
The main demand for solutions 3D-BKC is observed in education, sciences and medicine. TrueConf told TAdviser that in this direction densely work with the medical sphere: 3D, for example, it can be used in operating rooms better to understand what really happens.
Also there are requests for such solution from the educational sphere. TrueConf 3D allows not only to show the training projects in volume, but also to transfer three-dimensional video from any 3D video source. It can be the 3D systems - modeling, design, the three-dimensional model of a solar system or a molecule, for example, explain in the company.
