Certification of expansion unit of Ultrastar Data102 for DWH of XCubeSAN

On December 19, 2019 the QSAN Technology company, solution provider in the field of data storage, announced technology partnership with Western Digital on expansion of the storage systems using the hybrid platform of storage of high density Ultrastar Data102. The expansion unit of Ultrastar Data102 represents the superdense failsafe solution in body 4U on 102 disks which can be used for expansion of storage systems of QSAN of the XCubeSAN series.

Ultrastar Data102

Ultrastar Data102 supports up to 102 disks, including up to 24 SSD. At connection to DWH of QSAN up to 4 modules Ultrastar Data102 it is possible to reach 6.1PB of crude capacity, providing the flexible choice of combinations of HDD and SSD for achievement of desirable performance measures and volume at the predictable budget.

DWH of the XCubeSAN series from QSAN in combination with the hybrid Ultrastar Data102 platform is the solution of the enterprise level differing in high availability, superdense capacity, allowing to reduce the total cost of ownership and to provide good performance.

Certification of the module Ultrastar Data60 for expansion of DWH XCubeSAN

On September 9, 2019 the QSAN Technology company announced technology partnership with Western Digital on expansion of the storage systems using Ultrastar Data60, failsafe expansion unit of high density on 60 disks in the body 4 units.

Ultrastar Data60

According to the company, the hybrid Western Digital Ultrastar Data60 platform has 2 modules of input-output with one port Mini-SAS HD on the module and can support up to 60 disks SAS/SATA. At connection up to 4 shelves of the Ultrastar Data60 expansion DWH of a series XCubeSAN can support up to 266 disks or up to 3.7PB of crude capacity when using disks on 14TB of Ultrastar DC HC530 HDDs. The module Ultrastar Data60 is the compact solution of a convenient form factor providing flexible use of different combinations hard drives and SSD for achievement of desirable indicators of capacity, performance and the price.

QSAN selected the solution Western Digital Ultrastar Data60 including because of its support of two technologies. The IsoVibe technology minimizes influence of vibration on work while the functionality of ArcticFlow solves problems with cooling, providing receipt of a cold air in the center of construction. These technologies provide reliability and durability of the solution.

DWH of QSAN of the XCubeSAN series with expansion unit of high density of Ultrastar Data60 represents very reliable, flexible and budget solution for data storage. In addition to significant increase in volume of QSAN offers the big enterprise set of functions for increase in efficiency of storage, such as SSD a cache on a read and write (QCache), auto tiering (QTering), snapshot (QSnap), local cloning of volumes (QClone), and many others.
