Umbraco

Umbraco - CMS on the basis of the open code. It is written on C#.

Creators - Niels Hartwig, afterwards community Umbraco Core Team. In the form of the project on the basis of the open code the product left in 2004.

Description

• Product open-source. Umbraco uses the mixed license – MIT/Umbraco UI License. There is a commercial license which includes support, a number of paid additions and allows rebranding of CMS.
• As the interface of an output the XML/XSLT/WebForms formats are used.
• As a part of the solution rather convenient and flexible API for creation of the modules supplementing functionality.
• DB are supported: SQL Server, MySQL, VistaDB.
• The developed interface of the administrator/editor
• A large number of expansions, additions, data types, ready-made solutions on the Umbraco platform
• The community – many new projects, a "live" forum, the Wiki works.

Umbraco can be set on one physical server, together with the database and the website. Such model of deployment can be suitable for the small websites at the small cost level.

Highly loaded websites under control of Umbraco can be unrolled in a cluster of the balanced load. The Umbraco installation in such mode allows use of the program or hardware systems of balancing of loading, and access to network files in such system can be regulated with use SAN, NAS or through service of replication of files between cluster nodes.
