Universal File System Driver SDK (UFSD SDK)

Universal File System Driver SDK is a set of development tools of applications for adding of an opportunity for work with USB drives in Android and iOS.

On December 25, 2015 the company Paragon Software Group announced release of UFSD SDK for platforms Android and iOS.

According to developers, SDK will be equally interesting, both to producers of means and storage systems, and developers of mobile solutions. The set of development tools simplifies creating applications for Android and iOS, facilitates adding in applications of opportunities for work with USB drives, allows work with big files and the modern Full HD and Ultra HD (4K) formats.

UFSD SDK for iOS is intended for producers of external drives for the IOS platform. Because iOS provides very limited support of external drives, producers of such devices as SanDisk, iXpand solve a data exchange problem between iOS and the drive using the proprietary applications available through AppStore which provide data transmission between sources and consumers of data (services IOS and the external drive). Use of UFSD SDK when developing such application allows to reduce costs for development significantly.

The company considers, UFSD SDK will be interesting to Android to developers of mobile solutions by the person interested to provide to users access to contents of USB drives. These applications — file managers. The set of development tools will allow to create applications more convenient from the point of view of the user and functional - from the point of view of the developer. Independent software suppliers can use UFSD SDK for Android in the applications for support of different brands of portable USB drives.

We believe that availability of UFSD SDK to iOS will lead to emergence in the market of a new class of the accessories for iOS allowing to connect to iOS any data storage devices with the USB interface. UFSD SDK supports work with different standards of a format of placement of partition tables on the hard drive (MBR, GPT and APM) and different file systems (NTFS, HFS +, FAT32, ExFAT and ExtFS). SDK can connect UMS services and drivers of the Paragon Software Group file systems with USB drives, providing compatibility with any operating systems (iOS, Android, Linux, Mac OS X and Windows).

SDK is created on the basis of cross-platform UFSD from Paragon Software Group. The company provides to developers OEM drivers for USB-flash-drives. As a part of a set of products Paragon Software Group OEM drivers of file systems for Mac OS X and Windows enter.
