2024: Product Announcement

In early October 2024, Target introduced the innovative children's sneakers Ünos by Sz, which are growing with the owner.

The idea and design of the sneakers belongs to Dr. Dwayne Edwards, president of the design-focused college PLC Detroit. Edwards explained that Ünos by Sz (which stands for "U Need One Size," "everyone needs one size") solves several problems related to the growth of children, and can be a game for the whole family.

Children grow out of shoes very quickly, and most wear the wrong size of shoes because parents don't have time to buy a new one. The same trainers grow with the leg so the kids feel more comfortable, "Edwards explained. - Sneakers will also help adults, for example, people who usually find it difficult to find shoes that are very large or slightly wider than usual.

Edwards also noted that the left and right legs often differ by a half size, and in some cases even a whole size. These people sometimes have to buy two pairs of shoes, and the Ünos by Sz sneakers solve this problem by adjusting to the user.

The Ünos by Sz shoes are able to expand by an extra half size in children and to one full size in adults. This is achieved through a Z-shaped sole design that allows shoes to stretch in length and width with the leg. The company produces a range of eight sizes for adults and eight for children. Shoes for kids cost $35, while shoes for adults cost $50. Sneakers are available exclusively in select stores of the Target system and in the brand's online store from the end of September 2024. If the launch of the project is successful, then there will be more models in stores that will appeal to both men and women, Edwards noted.[1]
