2023: Terminal Termidesk Announcement
On May 24, 2023, Uveon - Cloud Technologies announced the launch of Terminal Termidesk. The solution enables centralized access to virtual desktops and applications without the need for virtualization platforms, giving multiple users remote access to a single operating system. Using the STAL terminal server, users will receive a full replacement of the Microsoft solution stack - MS RDS and Windows.
According to the company, due to this functionality, Terminal Termidesk allows you to build hybrid remote access to workplaces or applications without changing the business processes of companies within the framework of the single window concept.
Thus, the developer's portfolio for May 2023 has two products: Termidesk VDI and Termidesk Terminal. At the same time, Termidesk VDI is designed to create a VDI infrastructure and includes all the functionality of the product for implementing terminal access. The main difference between Termidesk VDI is the automation of the deployment of terminal farms based on Windows and STAL on virtualization platforms (for example, PC SV Brest, VMmanager, zVirt, etc.), as well as the possibility of implementing a VDI infrastructure, when each user has a desktop formed on its own dedicated virtual machine with its own OS and a set of applications.
One of the key areas of the company's work is to provide the market with a solution in the field of virtualization of desktops and applications. Termidesk Terminal is a logical continuation of one of the stages of development of the vendor's product portfolio. This product is suitable for customers who have used Microsoft Terminal Services and looks for analogues for Linux stack. At the same time, Termidesk VDI is a complete replacement for VDI from Citrix and VMware Horizon.
Termidesk Terminal has an updated connection client that provides two protocols: SPICE and RDP. The solution already has Health Check monitoring templates taking into account the updated task scheduler, and there is also functionality for managing BPM power for various virtualization platforms.
In addition to the release of the product, Termidesk VDI has added many features that customers need. The SSO mechanism appeared in OCAstra Linux on the SPICE protocol, and the interface itself now has a reporting mechanism. It is worth noting the optimization of work with the imported virtualization platform VMware. These updates include support for VMware version 7.x, an additional mechanism for working with storage without using DRS and with Full Clone technology.
Many ideas arise in the process of creating an IT solution, but it is really important to see the needs of the client; you need to evaluate ideas in terms of how the product will benefit the end user and the business as a whole. Termidesk Terminal allows all users of the same company to connect to one or a group of server operating systems and provides remote work of employees and centralized management of software, access and updates. |
