The Vizioncore company, child structure of Quest Software corporation, submitted the new version of a packet of vConverter 5.0 intended for fast conversion of physical and virtual machines to different formats. Full support of a hypervisor of Microsoft Hyper-V became the main innovation in version 5.0: earlier only the VMware platform was supported.
The packet of vConverter 5.0 provides conversion of machines from physical shape in virtual and back (and also from one virtual form in another) that allows administrators to use the same solution for work with all the machines – physical and virtual. vConverter will allow specialists to carry out different tasks – from recovery of systems in emergency situations before optimization of distribution of computing resources.
The packet of vConverter allows to turn a physical system into the file with image of the virtual server for execution on hypervisors of Hyper-V or VMware or in the mixed environments. Administrators can also convert ready virtual machines from a format of VMware into the Hyper-V format and back. The new feature of recovery of the virtual machine on a physical system allows to unroll images of the failed virtual machines on normal equipment. Such opportunity provides flexibility in control of virtual and physical machines – the administrator can start at discretion these or those machines in hypervisors or on the selected physical servers. As a result the customer can organize the unified protection of all the virtual and physical machines, saving and recovering their images in any form using the only tool – vConverter packet.
The new version of a packet of vConverter extends with a free key which allows to work with a packet within 90 days. After end of the trial period it is possible to purchase the license for the complete version.
