Foglight for Virtual Desktops 5.6

The Quest Software company announced a series of new versions of the products which will be shown at the forthcoming VMworld conference to Las Vegas in August, 2011. In particular, updating of a flagship product of Foglight for Virtual Desktops 5.6 with connectors for the Android, Mac and Linux, Foglight NMC environments (Network Management System) – a free product for control up to 100 machines, vFoglight 6.6 for load supervision on hypervisors of VMware and Hyper-V and also vRanger Pro 5.2 provided earlier for replication, backup and data recovery on hypervisors of ESX and ESXi in systems on the vSphere 5 platform is announced.

The new version of Foglight for Virtual Desktops 5.6 adds powerful tools of monitoring and diagnostics of infrastructure to the Quest vWorkspace system. The packet of Foglight for Virtual Desktops transfers rich practices on control of applications from the Quest Foglight platform to the virtualization platform of desktops Quest vWorkspace. In particular, the Foglight for Virtual Desktops system facilitates management of virtual desktops due to performance control at all levels of infrastructure – from terminals to the server. For example, the Foglight NMS utility quickly and absolutely free of charge collects information on a status, loading of the processor, available memory, load of hard drives and network traffic for physical and virtual devices. The monitoring mode helps with Foglight NMS quickly and with the minimum costs to find the prime causes of failures and to eliminate failures in the virtualized environments.
