2022: Completion of the development of the GIS "Infectious Diseases"

In mid-December 2022, it became known about the completion of the development of a vertically integrated medical information system (VIMIS) "Infectious Diseases." In preparation for the launch of the platform, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation presented the rules for maintaining the federal register of people with infectious diseases. The operator of the new VIMIS will be the department itself.

VIMIS was created for personalized accounting of citizens with infectious diseases for certain nosologies, including chronic viral hepatitis, HIV and tuberculosis. In addition to collecting information, the system is designed to provide information support for patient routing, personalization of approaches to the provision of medical care, continuity of the processes of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients. It is noted that with the help of VIMIS, it will be possible to analyze the compliance of medical organizations with the procedures and standards of medical care, as well as the application of clinical recommendations.

The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has completed the development of the GIS "Infectious Diseases"

In addition to medical organizations, regional ministries of health and Federal Tax Service MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS Rospotrebnadzor Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund Pension and Social Insurance Fund federal executive bodies will have to supply information to the register.

The Ministry of Health until 2023 should form a single register of patients with hepatitis C, and at the same time analyze the practice of treating this disease in federal and regional hospitals in order to apply the best of them in all clinics in the country.

The ministry planned to complete work on the creation of VIMIS for infectious diseases in July 2022. At the same time, VIMIS "Prevention" was supposed to work, but the deadlines were shifted for unknown reasons.[1]
