VKontakte expands the functionality of VK Donut - now users can leave donations to individual publications in communities. This will help support the authors' creativity in order to motivate them to please the audience with new content. You can also send a gift to the user in the form of a bright icon - and highlight the publication you like using the unique reaction available for voices. VK (formerly Mail.ru Group) announced this on September 18, 2023.

To send a one-time donation or reaction icon, just click on the gift icon in the reactions under the publication. The amount of the donation is chosen by the user - it can range from 50 to 2000 rubles. You can also select one or more icons in the catalog. In communities without a connected VK Donut, only icons can be attached to a publication.

Donates have proven to be a good way to thank and support content creators. In the second quarter of 2023, VK Donut brought authors 16% more money than in the same period in 2022 - more than 197 million rubles. The funds are credited within 24 hours after the subscriber has made a payment, and the platform commission at the start will become minimal in the market - 5%.

The author's earnings depend only on him. In order for fans to subscribe more often, it can inspire them with privileges: offer access to exclusive records and articles, the ability to leave comments or other bonuses. For example, authors can present works earlier, bloggers - invite to meetings or play prizes, entrepreneurs - arrange closed sales.
