VMware Solution Enablement Toolkits (SET)

Solution Enablement Toolkits (SET) is the tool kits and opportunities allowing partners of the company to create and extend own packaged solutions suitable for replication and scaling. VMware is going to strengthen the program of partner qualifications Solution Competencies for the investment account in a partner network of VMware Partner Network, development of the Partner university and creation of additional opportunities for education and certification of partners, including for obtaining qualification of VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) by them. Training the partners and providing them with the most modern tools for development of sales, VMware helps them to transfer client infrastructures to "clouds" successfully. System integrators, in turn, show steady interest in qualifications according to solutions of VMware which allow them to become reliable consultants for the customers.

VMware provides partners with new tools – Solution Enablement Toolkits

In addition to development of VMware network also announced availability of new Solution Enablement Toolkits (SET). New opportunities for the accelerated output to the market of products for virtualization designed to provide partners, each SET includes a specific set of critically significant tools and templates. A number of unique services and means which can be used for creation of the ready-made branded solutions based on technologies of VMware is also available to users of SET. SET are built in the expanded libraries created for support of qualifications in such areas as virtualization of infrastructure, virtualization of jobs and ensuring business continuity.

The following tool kits will be available to partners of VMware according to their qualifications:

  • Microsoft Exchange for work in VMware

  • SQL Solutions для VMware

SET contain tools which allow solution providers to virtualize bigger number of critically significant applications, providing promotion of clients on the new level of "cloud" calculations (ensuring business and IT as services). The system integrators using SET the first announce double sales increase (in comparison with the partner companies which were not applying innovation). Application of SET allows partners of VMware:

  • to close the deals quicker and to increase own margin on all types of solutions in the field of virtualization and "cloud" calculations,
  • accelerate return of investments (ROI) enclosed in obtaining qualifications of VMware
  • combine SETs with own unique developments and branding for creation of high-competitive solutions,
  • quickly and more professionally to sell solutions of VMware in the field of virtualization and "cloud" calculations.

The SET sets considerably save to suppliers time, efforts and finance during creation of the packaged solutions facilitating to their clients entry into the market. New tools allow system integrators to use significant investments of VMware into development of instruments of sales and the unique licensed services. Partners of the company will also be able to reduce time and resources necessary for an output of products to the market.

In 2009 VMware started the updated portal of the Partner university, providing to the partners simple and convenient access to the educational information necessary for effective implementing solutions of virtualization. Today more than 3500 partners already received different qualifications, it clearly indicates their readiness for long-term investments in cooperation with VMware. On average, the integrators having at least one qualification of VMware annually generate from two to four arrived on coproducts times more, than partners, competences not having. Besides, the partners in solutions having at least one qualification receive for each US dollar from sales of solutions of VMware, up to $15 of profit on sales of products and services of technology partners of VMware (in comparison with $11 of profit at the partners without competence distributing similar solutions and services).

Data on a partner network of VMware in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa):

  • 5966 people received the status VSP 4 (VMware Sales Professional),
  • 6169 people received the status VTSP 4 (VMware Technical Sales Professional),
  • More than 10,000 specialists were trained at the rate of SolutionTrack and gained an impression about the new strategy of VMware provided in 2010
  • More than 2400 people attended Partner Exchange actions in 2010.

The new SET sets are available to the solution providers having the corresponding competences according to solutions of VMware (during a limited time frame they will be able to receive them free of charge).
