2024: Market Entry
On October 10, 2024, Johnson & Johnson MedTech announced the release of VOLT (Variable angle Optimized Locking Technology). This is a special screw implant designed to heal fractures of the radial and humerus bones.
It is noted that orthopedic injuries are a serious problem around the world. In the United States alone, about 40 million such cases occur annually, many of which are associated with complex fractures that require internal fixation with plates and screws.
In addition to the innovative fixation technology, the VOLT system offers a wide range of plate shapes and screw lengths to meet different reposition and fracture fixation needs. The implants are designed to minimize the risk of soft tissue irritation. Color-labeled tools make it easier and more efficient to perform surgery.
For more than 50 years, we have been implementing cutting-edge fracture management solutions, and this system demonstrates our commitment to providing surgeons with best-in-class and versatile solutions to perform different surgeries and achieve the best possible outcomes for patients. The release of the VOLT system highlights our leadership in traumatology and marks the next chapter in our commitment to innovation, says Aldo Denti, Chairman of the Board of Orthopaedic at Johnson & Johnson MedTech. |
The system was developed with the participation of an international team of expert surgeons from around the world. It is noted that VOLT provides increased stability of the structure due to the precision threaded connection. The company plans to offer the product in stainless steel and titanium variants.[1]
