On October 24, 2022, Vertu officially unveiled the Metavertu smartphone, the world's first Web 3.0 cryptotelephone, at a special event in London.
The device is focused on working with cryptocurrencies and non-interchangeable NFT tokens, which can be created on the basis of any photo or video. There is a Value Web3 Wallet and a messenger with Vtalk encryption. Users will be able to access the 10TB Vbox IPFS storage. A special A5 chip is responsible for the operation of security functions.
Metavertu is the flagship smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor. Buyers can choose between modifications with 12 and 18 GB of RAM. In the first case, the built-in flash drive is designed to store 512 GB of information, in the second - 1 TB. Power is provided by a 4600 mA·ch battery with support for 55-W fast charging and 15-W wireless charging. There is an NFC controller, USB Type-C 3.1 port, fingerprint scanner and Bluetooth 5.2 adapter.
The smartphone received a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 × 1800 pixels (Full HD +), a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a peak brightness of 1000 cd/m2. The screen bends to the side of the case. In the front area there is a 16-megapixel camera, and the triple rear camera contains a 64-megapixel main unit with a Sony IMX787 sensor and optical stabilization, a 50-megapixel wide-angle module and an 8-megapixel periscope unit. The dimensions are 161.9 × 73.2 × 9.85 mm.
The Metavertu model is offered in various finishes using expensive materials - leather, carbon fiber, 18K gold and diamonds. The price, depending on the execution, varies from $3350 (approximately 205,600 rubles at the exchange rate) to $41,500 (about 2,547,000 at the exchange rate).[1][2]
