2020: The announcement of Virtual Care Station - a telemedicine system for shops and the universities
In the middle of August, 2020 Philips provided the telemedicine Virtual Care Station environment for providing remote services. It can be used in shops, libraries and the universities.
A system connects networks of suppliers and insurance companies thanks to what patients can select medical care with access to virtual personal accounts. Is of Virtual Care Station particular importance in urban or rural areas with the insufficient service level. A system should improve results of treatment, reduce costs in the field of health care and increase satisfaction of patients and personnel.
Virtual Care Station is equipped with the camera, lamps and loudspeakers which should give to the doctor as much as possible opportunities for survey. The thought-over design allows to use a system even to patients in wheelchairs or with seeing eye dogs. Philips claims that in the future possibilities of use of a system will extend and will include, for example, contactless monitoring. Besides, the compatibility with other devices will allow doctors to trace the patient's status between visits.
Philips developed Virtual Care Station within the ATLAS program ("Access to telemedicine through local stations") for service of veterans of the USA. Start of Virtual Care Station was very timely - it is supposed that possibilities of telemedicine will help to lower load of a health care system during COVID-19 pandemic.
Expanding our services of telemedicine, we hope that doctors will be able to give support to patients with the minimum costs at home thanks to what they will be able to control risk, to prevent aggravations and in time to help at deterioration in a status of patients, - the marketing director of Philips in North America Vitor Rocha noticed.[1] |
