Integration with the Electronika Security Manager platform
On July 18, 2022, VisionLabs announced that using AI technologies from SOFT DIVISION and VisionLabs, it became possible to automate the process of passing vehicles and employees. The joint solution helps to reduce the burden on personnel while maintaining a high level of safety. The solution is based on the Electronika Security Manager (ESM) PSIM platform, which integrates a number of systems, including VisionLabs' LUNA CARS transport video analytics. Read more here.
Inclusion in the Unified Register of Russian Programs
More than fifteen VisionLabs products are included in the Unified Register of Russian Programs for Electronic Computers and Databases. The developer announced this on February 22, 2022. The latest version of the LUNA SDK has also been included in the register of domestic software. Read more here.
Red OS Compatibility
The tests confirmed the compatibility of products based on computer vision technologies LUNA Platform and LUNA SDK from VisionLabs with the operating system RED OS from RED SOFT. Full compliance with the import substitution policy allows the use of a joint solution in the public sector, including in the subjects of critical information infrastructure. VisionLabs announced this on February 14, 2022. Read more here.
Composition and features
For February 2022, the LUNA SDK comes in two versions: front-end and full.
The front-end version is designed for simple tasks that do not require extracting face descriptors and comparing them.
The full version contains all the functions of the front-end version and includes the extraction of face descriptors and their comparison.
The set of Supported operating systems and platforms varies depending on the versions described above.
The LUNA SDK consists of several modules, each of which solves certain tasks:
- FaceEngine - a module containing basic functions and algorithms for face detection and descriptor extraction
- LivenessEngine is a module that allows you to distinguish the face of a real person from an image or video.
- TrackEngine - module for tracking faces and choosing the best frame from the stream

FIDO Alliance Certification
In October 2017, VisionLabs received FIDO Alliance certification for facial recognition technology in a mobile phone using the LUNA SDK. The FIDO Alliance certification confirms that the LUNA SDK meets FIDO standards, security and privacy criteria for the identity authentication process.
In the fall of 2017, VisionLabs is the first and only company in Russia and the CIS that has passed FIDO UAF testing and received international certification. As of October, LUNA SDK technology on Android has received certification; in the near future, the technology on iOS will be certified.
FIDO Alliance compliance provides an opportunity to provide customers with a new user experience of authentication using facial biometrics in a mobile phone, which is replacing the outdated technology of entering passwords. In this case, a full cycle of face recognition occurs on a mobile device and takes no more than one second.
FIDO Alliance certification can only be obtained after passing a series of tests that mean the technology functionally meets the FIDO criteria. The certificate ensures that biometric samples are processed and stored on the device itself, without the use of third-party software and intermediaries. Identifiers with facial biometrics traditionally send biometric patterns to an external server, but to obtain a FIDO certificate, it is necessary to implement a full recognition cycle inside a mobile device, bypassing intermediaries and external servers. This ensures maximum security of user data, which is necessary for the further development of facial biometrics both in the banking sector and for the creation of a national biometric platform.
Audit of personal data processing process
VisionLabs conducted a survey of its software complex at NPO Echelon in order to determine the list of personal data processed. The examination showed that VisionLabs systems do not provide for the processing of personal data of subjects.
The LUNA software complex, the LUNA Cloud cloud service, as well as a set of LUNA SDK libraries, FaceStream software, and PhotoMaker libraries were examined. Read more here.
