On July 29, 2022, VideoMatrix announced that it had patented the technology of flaw detection of reflective surfaces with machine vision.
The technology allows you to find and measure flaws in a sheet up to 1 mm thick in fractions of millimeters using conventional IP video cameras. Previously, it was believed that flaw detection of the mirror surface was almost impossible - glare prevented "seeing" the marriage. The solution solved this problem and is already actively used in production. Using a patented technology based on Vmx Dequs software, Rostec Group of Companies automated analysis of the quality of military steel sheets at the ARMIL software and hardware complex.
The patented method is another example of the use of artificial intelligence in industry to reduce enterprise costs and improve product quality control.
It started with a special order. The thinnest sheet, glaring surface, sometimes invisible defects to the human eye - such conditions required a non-trivial approach to solving the problem.
