The Russian company "Vokord" — developer of intelligent systems of video surveillance, biometric identification and computer vision — announced release of set of program components and development tools of applications with face recognition on the Android platform.

Vocord Android SDK can be used not only in mobile devices, but also on the different single board computers supporting Android OS. It allows to create available at the price and, at the same time, the reliable built-in systems of recognition for use in ATMs, payment terminals, the check systems, etc., claim in Vocord. Any developer who creates applications on the Android platform including bank and business applications, games, applications for work on social networks, etc., can use the feature set which is available in SDK and connect them to the application then it will be able to distinguish persons.

Unlike the recognition online services presented at the market, when using Vocord Android SDK connection to the Internet is not required — all work is carried out completely independently on the device. According to Vocord, if necessary already constructed biometric templates can be transferred to the server. Such approach in tens and hundreds of times reduces load of network and servers and can work even where there is no access to Network at all. For recognition pictures about the cameras of the mobile device received from the external camera and also any files with the image of persons saved on the device, including loaded from social networks can be used.
