Availability of Intelliflash N5200-50 in Russia
On September 5, 2019 the international distributor of ASBIS reported that he brought to Russia DWH from Western Digital - Intelliflash N5200-50.
In Russia for September, 2019 the flagman IntelliFlash N-серии models, on the basis of NVMe became available.
IntelliFlash is a line of storage systems, belongs to one of world leaders - Western Digital Corp company. Gartner Magic Quadrant for Solid State Arrays for 2018 defines the solutions Intelliflash (Western Digital, Tegile) in a zone of visionaries (Visionaries box). DWH have two controllers, the working Active-Active. NVMe arrays of a N-series are the most productive. As carriers two-port NVMe disks of production of Western Digital are used. Options of network connection of arrays a N-series - 16/32GB/s the Fibre Channel and 10/40GB/s iSCSI. IntelliFlash is native supports as block access (iSCSI and the Fibre Channel), and file (NFS, CIFS/SMB3) that allows customers to consolidate different workloads in one array. The basic functionality includes inlayn deduplication and a compression, cloud monitoring, snapshots, remote replication and enciphering.
IntelliFlash N-серия
On July 18, 2019 the Asbis company reported that the Western Digital company added the younger IntelliFlash N5100 model to a line and released upgrade of the IntelliFlash OS 3.10 operating system. The provided release supports data migration and the connector Amazon S3 for object storages. On assurance of vendor, thanks to OS 3.10, the flagman array of N5800 doubled performance, providing indicators in 1.7 million IOPS and a delay to 200 microsec.
For July, 2019 IntelliFlash is issued in the form of three product lines:
- A N-series, NVMe arrays with a delay to 200 microseconds
- A T-series, hybrid a flash - disk arrays of SAS with a delay 1-2ms
- A H-series, hybrid arrays of high capacity of NVMe/SAS with a delay <1мс
According to the statement of the producer, all DWH have two controllers working with Active-Active. NVMe arrays of a N-series are the most productive. As carriers two-port NVMe disks of production of Western Digital are used. Options of network connection of arrays a N-series - 16/32GB/s the Fibre Channel and 10/40GB/s iSCSI. IntelliFlash is native supports as block access (iSCSI and the Fibre Channel) and file (NFS, CIFS/SMB3) that allows customers to consolidate different workloads in one array. The basic functionality includes inlayn deduplication and a compression, cloud monitoring, snapshots, remote replication and enciphering.
The functionality of data migration (live dataset migration) both Fibre Channel, and iSCSI between the different systems is added to release of IntelliFlash OE v3.10. In addition, DWH received the connector Amazon S3. It will allow to send snapshots with IntelliFlash to any S3 - compatible DWH, for example the same ActiveScale placed locally or in a cloud. Such functionality can be used for disaster recovery, testing and development. Arrays of a N-series had an opportunity to increase net volume using SAS of shelves, emphasized in Asbis.
"The IntelliFlash systems have rich functionality: the snapshots integrated with Veeam, deduplication, a compression, replication, file and block access, cloud predicative analytics, two Active-Active controllers, etc. And all this functionality is included into delivery of DWH at once. The customer will not need to pay extra anything separately", |
As of July, 2019 the Intelliflash N-серии systems are already available in Russia.
