2020: Announcement of WD My Passport SSD
On August 20, 2020 the Western Digital company provided the My Passport solid state drive under the WD brand with a capacity up to 2 Tbyte.
According to the company, in modern conditions productivity of users more than ever depends before on their capability to store directly at itself both the files and which are constantly increasing in volume of library and a collection. Using the My Passport solid state drive, creators of content will be able to move and edit it with a speed almost twice exceeding the previous version of the device, releasing time for accomplishment of other tasks. Using this device users will be able to store the data in any conditions – using the notebook or the desktop computer, working at home, at office or on the way.
The model is provided in several flowers, including gray, blue, red and gold.
Existence the SSD drive My Passport is delivered with the five-year limited warranty and is available to the order in the volume of 500 Gbytes and 1 Tbyte in gray color worldwide in separate online stores and retail, complementaries and volumes will appear later in 2020.
Main characteristics of the SSD drive My Passport:
- speed of reading is up to 1050 MB / с1, writing rate up to 1000 MB / с1;
- the password-protected hardware encryption of AES with key length of 256 bits for protection of content;
- the built-in protection against blows and vibration, protection against falling from height to 1.98 meters;
