2020: Medical inspection for $30 and toothbrushing for $25
Since the end of February, 2020 visitors of Walmart will be able not only to purchase objects of daily use, but also to have medical examination for $30, to receive toothbrushing for $25 or to talk about the problems with the consultant for $1 a minute. At the same time from the visitor existence of the health insurance is not required. This opportunity became available within the Walmart Health project which became for the world's largest retailer one of the first in the market of health care.
In Walmart Health clinics employees invite clients from a waiting zone to one of 12 rooms on leaving. All premises in general occupy the space of 600 sq.m. After survey of patients send to drugstore which is right there for now clients wait for the recipes, they can visit the section of products and purchase the vegetables recommended by the doctor.
Walmart does not open plans about further expansion of clinic and construction of the new centers, however this direction of development of the company obviously is one of priority. It is worth understanding that Walmart enters the highly competitive market: CVS Health Corp. also develops own medical centers HealthHubs, as well as Amazon.
Sean Slovenski, the president of Walmart concerning health care who joined the retailer in 2018 after long-term work in Humana insurance company is responsible for deployment of the medical centers. The Walmart company opened the first drugstore in 1978, but until recently the company generally aimed to take roots in the product sector of which 56% of its sales are the share.
As notes the Bloomberg agency, the Walmart company is shamefully known for the unwillingness to provide employees with the normal health insurance and improved only by the end of the 2010th years when began to provide them free difficult transactions and medical examinations. In parallel Walmart developed the idea of own medical centers and now waits for the first results for initiative assessment. [1]
