2023: Production Launch
In early March 2023, it became known about the launch of the production of military unmanned aerial vehicles at the Delta-WB plant, founded in 2022 by the Georgian company Delta and the Polish WB Electronics S.A. The company is located near Tbilisi.
Warmate kamikaze combat drones and Flyeye reconnaissance UAVs will be produced there. According to Defense Minister Georgia Juansher Burchuladze, the factory will produce from 1 thousand to 1.5 thousand reconnaissance and combat drones annually.
The joint venture is a very successful project. We started working with the Polish side in 2020, "he said, speaking on the air of the pro-government TV channel Rustavi-2 (quoted by Kommersant). |
The publication cites data from the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, according to which Warmate is a barraging unmanned aerial vehicle with high accuracy of destruction. Moreover, Warmate can be equipped with a warhead of various types. Including fragmentation and high-explosive. This drone is launched into the air from a special launcher.
Flyeye is an unmanned aerial vehicle for secret tracking in any meteorological conditions and in all climatic zones. It provides rapid processing and transmission of intelligence both day and night. It takes 7-8 minutes to prepare the Flyeye device for launch. Unlike the Warmate, it is launched into the air manually.
At the end of January 2023, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili attended a test flight of unmanned aerial vehicles produced at a Georgian-Polish enterprise. Combat and reconnaissance unmanned drones successfully carried out a test flight, the Georgian government said in a statement.[1]
