The Russian mobile service "Intercession" began to use 2GIS technologies to help children in an emergency - maps are already integrated into the application and are available to users. This was announced by 2GIS on February 28, 2024.

"Intercessor" is a free mobile application in Russia that allows children not only to send a distress signal in an emergency, but also, more importantly, to receive the help of volunteers and emergency services as soon as possible - from only two minutes.

The Intercessor project is based on a social agreement on mutual assistance between parents. The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation recommended an application for integration in schools, - said the project coordinator Dmitry Ivanov. - In the last year of the project, more than 4,500 children received operational assistance. "Intercessor" is a non-profit social project, all the functionality of which is provided to users for free.

Now in the "Intercessor" application for phones on iOS and Android, maps from 2GIS are used by default, on which the urban environment is detailed up to paths, fences, entrances to organizations and entrances. Hundreds of full-time cartographers and information collection specialists, artificial intelligence are constantly working on the relevance of maps, routes and reference data of the 2GIS. Additional clarifications are regularly sent by active users of the geoservice.
