2025: Service Launch
A new service "What kind of product?" Has appeared in the "Honest Sign" mobile application, which helps customers quickly understand the detailed composition of food products. This was announced by representatives of the Center for the Development of Promising Technologies on December 18, 2025.
Thousands of laboratory tests were carried out to launch the service in Russia. The buyer needs one scan of the marking code on the package to see detailed information about the composition of the product. The system displays data directly at the store shelf without requiring additional action.
HonestThe service shows the content of 11 key indicators in each product:
- sugar;
- salt;
- fats;
- trans fats;
- food additives;
- allergens;
- calories;
- proteins;
- carbohydrates;
- vitamins;
- trace elements.
In 2025, the service works for milk and dairy products, bottled water, juices and sugary drinks. You are planning to expand the list of product categories. The functionality is based on the official methodology of Rospotrebnadzor "Traffic Light." The color hint allows you to immediately understand the amount of sugar, salt, fat and trans fats, taking into account the daily norm.
Green indicates a low content of the component. Yellow indicates moderate content. Red indicates high content. The card of each product contains all the indicators so that the buyer can compare the goods and make an informed choice.
The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova noted that a high level of consumption of sugar, saturated fatty acids and salt leads to the development of cardiovascular diseases, arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus. According to her, the consumer needs to be informed about the composition of the product in the most affordable way so that everyone can consciously decide which products can be consumed almost without restriction, and which require more moderate consumption. Anna Popova stressed that the color indication "Traffic light" helps to make a competent choice of products and reduce risks to the health of citizens.[1]
