2022: Service Launch Plan
On August 8, 2022, Wildberries announced that it would launch a service for protecting copyright holders and buyers from counterfeit goods - Digital Arbitration.
The launch of the service is expected in August, 2022.
"Digital arbitration" will allow copyright holders to quickly and directly interact with other sellers: create official appeals when there are assumptions about the violation of their intellectual property rights and independently check the title documents.
After checking the copyright holder and confirming the legality of the sale of the goods in this Wildberries service, the fact of the absence of violations by another seller will be recorded. If the title documents are not provided or their unreliability, Wildberries will hide such goods from the online showcase, with repeated and massive violations, a complete suspension of cooperation with this seller is also possible.
{{Digital Arbitration quote "is a special solution in the online retail segment: it will significantly strengthen the protection of the interests of copyright holders and buyers. If earlier correspondence with possible violators through their official channels could take a long time and did not always lead to a resolution of the problem situation, then thanks to this service, controversial issues can be resolved in a few days. In addition, Digital Arbitration will make the online marketplace even more transparent, and will protect buyers from possible counterfeit products, the Wildberries press service said. }}
The copyright holder remains entitled to judicially recover compensation from the seller for violation of intellectual property rights. Correspondence with an unscrupulous seller in the Wildberries service can be used in court as confirmation of the validity of the claims of the copyright holder.
Wildberries will monitor the interaction of copyright holders and sellers and take the necessary response measures.
Earlier, the online platform launched an automatic monitoring system for illegal products based on artificial intelligence, which analyzes product cards, photos, reviews, and blocks suspicious products.
