VisualCAM is the system of preparation of production of printed circuit boards.

Description

The VisualCAM program includes standard data exchange interfaces: ODB ++, ODB ++ XML, IPC-2581 and also modules of import DirectCAM and PADS ASCII. These formats provide transfer of the most necessary data set for production that provides high quality and reliability at all subsequent stages of a process flow. Interaction with other systems of design and data preparation is provided through the following formats:

Altium:

• P-CAD - ODB++
• Altium Designer - ODB++

Cadence:

• Allegro & Allegro Studio - ODB++ или IPC-2581
• OrCAD Layout - ODB++ или IPC-2581

Frontline Solutions:

• Genesis2000 - ODB ++ or IPC-2581 (when support)

Mentor Graphics:

• BoardStation - ODB++
• Expedition - ODB ++ or IPC-2581 (when support)
• PADS - PADS ASCII или DirectCAM

Valor Computerized Systems:

• Enterprise3000 - ODB ++ or IPC-2581 (when support)

Zuken:

• CADSTAR - ODB ++ or IPC-2581

For import Import Wizard which will help at recognition of data with the Gerber format is used. The user needs to specify location of data on a disk and the module will independently recognize data type (A Gerber, Drill, Mill, HPGL, DXF, etc.) and their format.

If the old RS-274D format is used, the program will recognize and will load the external file with the table of apertures. For loading of separate files special modules of import for all supported formats of data can be used (A Gerber, Barco DPF, DXF, HPGL & HPGL/2, Excellon, Sieb & Meyer, IPC-D-356A, etc.).

2014: VisualCAM 16.4

On April 9, 2014 the WISE Software Solutions company announced a release of new version 16.4 of the product VisualCAM, the printed circuit boards intended for preproduction.

The main changes in the new version concerned improvement of the interface of hot communication with the systems of design of printed circuit boards Cadence of Allegro company and OrCAD: commands of scaling of a type, the choice of objects, chains and components became available, to navigation of errors. Support of objects of Cadence NetShorts for an output in IPC2581 and IPC356 formats is added.

The new version supports operating systems Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012.
