2025: Deliveries to the Russian Army

On May 12, 2025, it became known that a new attack drone called Vobla was at the disposal of the Russian army. A feature of this drone is an unusual design that includes five quadcopters.

According to RIA Novosti, the device was designed by servicemen of the field laboratory of the UAV of the 18th combined arms army of the Dnipro group of forces. The device consists of a frame in the corners of which drones are fixed: each of them plays the role of one motor. The fifth quadcopter is located in the center and performs the functions of a computing node: it uses a video camera to point at the target, and also controls all other drones in the complex.

The Russian armed forces have acquired a heavy FPV-drone "Vobla," which includes five quadcopters

Thanks to this design, the Vobla can carry a payload weighing up to 7 kg or more on board. These can be, for example, anti-tank mines, as well as other heavy explosive devices. The device can be used to destroy enemy UAV control points, long-term firing points and other objects.

We developed, implemented and use in combat conditions a product called "Wobla." It consists of 5 drones... and the assembly frame itself, which is also made by our specialists. This product allows us to deliver point and powerful strikes, - said the military technician of the UAV laboratory with the call sign "Cartoon."

It takes about a day to assemble one drone of a new type. The operator, as stated, does not need long additional training to work with the Vobla apparatus. If necessary, the design can be quickly disassembled and each drone can be used separately to defeat infantry or light enemy equipment. The drone is successfully used in the zone of a special military operation.[1]
