2019: Elimination of vulnerability of access to ArchestrA

On January 31, 2019 it became known that the producer of the engineering and industrial software the Aveva company corrected vulnerability in the system Wonderware System Platform platform allowing to obtain credentials for the network account ArchestrA.

Wonderware System Platform uses ArchestrA account for authentication of system processes and mezhdouzlovy communications. The problem is connected with API using which the user with low privileges can get access to credentials for the network account.

Vulnerabilities are subject to the version of Wonderware System Platform 2017 Update 2 and earlier. Identifier CVE-2019-6525 is appropriated to Bagh, degree of its danger is estimated at 8.8 points on CVSS v3 scale. The problem is corrected in the version of Wonderware System Platform 2017 Update 3.

For February 1, 2019 there are no data on cases of operation of this vulnerability by malefactors^[1].

On July 7, 2017 the Wonderware company announced release of the adaptive mechanism of visualization of System Platform 2017 with InTouch OMI.
