2024: Market Entry
At the end of September 2024, Yashica released night vision goggles with an additional retractable screen. According to the manufacturer, the model called Yashica Explorer is designed for outdoor enthusiasts, security specialists and everyone who needs a night vision.
Goggles can be attached to a helmet for hands-free work, or held in hands like regular binoculars. AI technologies help to navigate in low light, improving the images displayed on the screen by color and contrast. In addition, the creators propose to use a three-level IR illuminator, which allows you to disperse pitch darkness at a distance of up to 600 meters.
Captured images are displayed simultaneously on round high-definition OLED displays in each eyepiece or on a 2.4-inch "high-quality" flip-up TFT display. They can be brought closer using 3x optical zoom and 8x digital zoom, and built-in technology helps reduce image blur when shaking binoculars.
The device is also capable of storing 48-megapixel still images or video footage as 4K on a microSD card (up to 512 GB), captured using a Galaxycore 1/2.9-inch CMOS camera with a F1.0 lens.
Control is carried out using backlit buttons. The removable 3500 mAh battery is designed for 11 hours of operation (with the IR backlight turned off). At the same time, the Explorer weighs 430g, that is, 42% lighter than the previous Vision model. The device can also be used in daylight hours so as not to take several gadgets with you, and weather protection in class IP65 means that glasses can be used even in dampness.
The retail price of the glasses is expected to be $390.[1]
