At the end of November 2025, it became known that Transneft-Privolga JSC commissioned the Yuri Makartsev vessel, designed to contain oil spills using booms and perform emergency rescue operations. The ship was made as part of the RBT.2006 project at the R-Fleet shipbuilding complex in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
In the production of the vessel, as noted, domestic materials and equipment were used. In structural terms, the ship is an all-welded steel single-deck boat with an aluminum-magnesium alloy wheelhouse and fixed-pitch screws. The length is 19.5 meters, the width is 5.9 meters, the height of the side is 2.6 meters, the draft is 1.25 meters. Two 354 kW engines are installed each. The crew consists of two people. In addition, there are special personnel on board consisting of two employees. The autonomy of swimming is one day.
"Yuri Makartsev" is intended for work in a slick of oil/oil products with a flash point over 60 degrees Celsius. The vessel is capable of localizing an oil spill by placing booms and constructing oil collection orders. In this case, it is allowed to work as part of a mobile order with a length of 500 meters with the use of heavy inflatable sea booms 900 mm high. The ship can also be used to transport oil or petroleum product spill response equipment, search and lift people from the water.
According to Dmitry Buzlaev, General Director of Transneft-Privolga JSC, as part of the construction of the Yuri Makartsev ship, the company has implemented an important project that launches the further development of safety issues for critical infrastructure of pipeline transport facilities.[1]
