In August 2015, the ZKTeco range of devices included an electromechanical HL-100ZK lock with a built-in fingerprint reader and code-based keyboard, designed for autonomous operation powered by 4 alkaline batteries. The novelty is designed for controlled access to rooms with door unlocking in less than 2 seconds from the beginning of identification, since this fingerprint lock uses a high-speed papillary pattern recognition algorithm. In addition, the HL-100ZK has internal memory for storing up to 100 fingerprint templates, 100 pin codes and 30,000 system event records.
The long-term autonomous operation of the lock is realized using four 1.5 V alkaline batteries, which provide more than 20,000 cycles of reading fingerprints and unlocking the locking mechanism. When the battery level decreases, the fingerprint lock emits a special signal informing the owner of the need to replace them. You can increase the duration of the HL-100Z by connecting a 9 V backup battery of the "Krona" type to it, for which the lock has a special connector. Subject to the rules of operation and planned replacement of batteries, the HL-100ZK can last at least 20 years.
Structurally, the HL-100ZK consists of an identification module including a fingerprint scanner, a 10-button code-set keyboard and a microcontroller, as well as a locking actuator that locks/unlocks the door. The lock with a fingerprint uses a cylindrical crossbar as a locking element. For ease of use, the HL-100ZK is equipped with a keyboard and optical scanner backlight, low power consumption and ease of maintenance and programming. So, for example, in order to enter biometric data into the lock memory for a new user, just a couple of minutes is enough.
A high level of protection of the fingerprint reading module from mechanical influences is provided by the HL-100ZK body made of zinc alloy. At the same time, the operating temperature range of the device varies in the range from 0 to + 45 ° C and humidity from 20 to 80%, which allows it to be installed in rooms with various microclimates. Thanks to the reversible handle, the new fingerprint lock can be mounted on both right- and left-hand doors, and its locking cylindrical girder is made in accordance with the American standard, so HL-100ZK is interchangeable with any locking device of the same type. At the same time, this lock is protected from electrostatic discharges, shocks and vibrations.
The fast and reliable fingerprint identification of users is carried out by an optical sensor without a silicone substrate, which provides a high-resolution reading of the papillary pattern. Thanks to the use of modern algorithms for decoding scanned data, a fingerprint lock takes no more than 2 seconds to identify and unlock the door. Unlike many biometric devices with similar functionality, the new lock has a lower False Rejection Rate (FRR), which is <0.01%, и коэффициент ложного доступа FAR (False Acceptance Rate), не превышающий 0.0001%.
HL-100ZK can store up to 100 fingerprint biometric templates in its memory (two for each user), and provides control over access to small offices, warehouses, etc., with up to 50 employees. Also, a fingerprint lock allows you to store up to 100 peak codes used in one-/two-factor identification, and information about 30,000 events. An additional advantage of the HL-100ZK is the presence of a ring button, which can be connected directly to the ringing panel of the doorphone. To unlock the lock from the inside of the protected room, a false handle is used, and for emergency cases of opening the door there is a mechanical key.
