2023: Product Announcement

On September 11, 2023, the American company Zeta Surgical introduced a mixed reality navigation platform for neurosurgical operations with millimeter accuracy. The solution was named Zeta Cranial Navigation System.

The system provides surgeons with navigation functions in real time. Computer vision tools automatically collect data several times per second, taking into account the patient's movements. This ensures consistently high accuracy, which helps to increase the efficiency of operations. In addition, there is no need for general anesthesia and rigid immobilization of the skull.

Zeta Surgical has created technology that not only improves existing methods and workflows, but also allows new approaches to be used, thereby expanding the range of surgical procedures performed, said Dr. Kyle Wu, director of neurosurgical innovation at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

It is noted that the Zeta Cranial Navigation System platform can be used in the most complex neurosurgical operations. In addition, it makes it possible to conduct more routine interventions at a lower cost outside of the traditional operating room. The system has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

In March 2022, Zeta Surgical announced the closure of a $5.2 million funding round. The investment program was attended by Innospark Ventures, TSVC, Y Combinator, Trevor Fette, etc. The money received is aimed at the development of navigation and surgical robotic platforms. In addition, the staff of technical specialists has been expanded.[1]
