2019: Entry into the market
In the middle of August, 2019 the American company ZiiLock Lab provided the biometric bicycle lock which uses the fingerprint scanner and the smartphone for protection of the bicycle.
The biometric bicycle lock has three safe methods of an unblocking: fingerprints, Bluetooth code and traditional key. The lock is waterproof construction from hardened steel 98 cm long with the system of automatic warning in case of theft. Also the device is supplied with the function of sharing of the lock allowing the owner of the bicycle to provide access to ZiiLock to other persons.
ZiiLock is equipped with the touchpad with high resolution 508 DPI which provides a safe and fast unblocking without key using a fingerprint. Components with low power consumption provide the high duration of use of the lock.
ZiiLock is delivered with the proprietary application for the smartphone and can store up to 20 fingerprints. Lock cost is $99 so far that is 44% less from the recommended retail price which will become effective after completion of a campaign for crowd funding. The producer delivers the device free of charge worldwide complete with the system of mounting brackets for convenient carrying of the lock when it is not used.
The Bluetooth AES 256 system of the biometric lock with the military standard of enciphering effectively protects confidential data of the user. Each section of the lock consists of rods with a diameter of 6.5 mm which are seamlessly connected by high-strength rivets with a diameter of 7 mm that allows ZiiLock to maintain a high load. ZiiLock is even capable to resist to operation of the 12-ton hydraulic cutting torch.
