The Solveig Multimedia company announced in May, 2012 an exit of Zond 265, the tool for the complete and comprehensive analysis of a video flow. The program created for developers of video codecs is the solution supporting the analysis of HEVC/H.265 video standard.
At the end of February, 2012 the new compression standard of video - HEVC also known as H.265 was officially approved. It provides the increased maximum permission (to 8 thousand points on a frame) and also allows to reduce by 67% data transfer rate when preserving image quality. According to forecasts, already to this standard will pass to the middle of 2013 practically all mobile video services and also the high definition television (HDTV).
The Solveig Multimedia company put on the market Zond 265 the program for the comprehensive analysis of video flows of HEVC/H.265. It is intended first of all for developers who will be able to create the programs and codecs compatible to the new standard with its help. Thus, in 2013 they will be able to provide already finished HEVC compatible products.
Thanks to Zond 265 developers will be able to obtain the data necessary for adaptation of the existing codecs and devices to HEVC/H.265 standard. The analysis of a video flow which is carried out by the program gives the user not only standard information (date and time, the sizes and types of the personnel), but also optional data about each frame and the block of images. It should be noted that Zond 265 represents analysis results of all levels of a video flow and all stages of decoding in a type, convenient for perception and use.
What optional data are provided by Zond 265? Here it is worth dwelling. First, it is information connected with NAL - the level of network abstraction. HEVC/H.265 uses more advanced NAL, than the previous standards that video compression conformed to modern requirements. Zond 265 can separately consider units of NAL and VCL NAL, analyzing the size and shift of a flow.
Secondly, it is data on distribution of bits: Zond 265 calculates and visually shows what will be costs when using SplitFlag or PartMode depending on the frame size in bits.
Thirdly, it is information on the blocks of coding used by HEVC/H.265 standard. These blocks consisting of modules of prediction and conversion differ by the size and a format (the previous technologies of video compression were based on macroblocks of the identical size). Zond 265 can provide to the developer all coefficients of each block and also specify the quantizers used for these coefficients.
Fourthly, it is data on motion vectors (these vectors entered still by H.261 standard allow to save smoothness of transfer of movements at a high compression ratio).
Fifthly, it is the comprehensive information about decoding: Zond 265 can analyze separately all stages of this process, display "the predicted image" and compare it to a final result.
At present Zond 265 supports only Windows, but support and other operating systems is in the future planned (Linux, Mac OS). The program is started via the web browser; for the highest performance use of Google Chrome is recommended.
The Zond 265 program is compatible to Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7. The price of one license is 2650 dollars. On the page of a product the free demoversion with limited functionality is available.
Zond 265 of version 1.9
Solveig Multimedia, the program writer according to the analysis and editing video, announced in October, 2014 the version of the product Zond 265, 1.9. The functionality was for the first time shown at the IBC 2014 exhibition in Amsterdam on September 12 - 16, 2014.
Version 1.9 offers new features:
- Optimization of work with files 4K. New Zond 265 shows fivefold acceleration in processing of the UltraHD 4K files (in test conditions of PC Intel Core i7-2600 3.4GHz, 16 GB. RAM, Windows 7 x64)
- Elementary flows of video H.264/AVC are supported in the beta mode now.
- Improvements include:
- Compatibility with reference software (reference software) of HM 14
- Reports of CLI (command line interface, the command line interface) can include data of CU for the whole frame now, as well as statistics on a flow
- Different stages of decoding of the image in the mode of the command line (final, to an unblocking, after an unblocking, residual, estimated) can be saved as the YUV files now
- Display with a changeable size of a window. A limit for the minimum width was lifted.
